SCA works actively to make use of the entire tree and all parts of residual streams. The most valuable part of the tree is refined in the sawmills into wooden products. Some of these become window components, painted panels or shelves. Just over half of the log becomes solid wood products. The rest becomes wood chips for pulp production or shavings that are processed into pellets. The bark is used for energy production.

SCA’s defibrillators can save lives in local communities
By making defibrillators at SCA’s local offices in northern Sweden accessible to the public 24/7, more lives can potentially be saved. This is the hope of SCA Skog’s health and safety network, which has selected several local offices as pilot sites.
SCA achieves the lowest damage level ever for ancient and cultural remains
SCA is reporting the lowest damage level ever to known archaeological and cultural remains. This goes against the grain of the industry at large as the Swedish Forest Agency announced in December that the percentage of damage to remains has increased, reaching the level of 18 percent in 2025 – the highest since 2020. – SCA noted a total of 1.4 percent damage overall and 0.6 percent damage in connection with soil scarification. This is an excellent result, says Ulla Sandenér, responsible for SCA's silviculture.
SCA receives award for well-managed forest in Lithuania
SCA has been awarded the Lithuanian Forest Owners Association's award for exemplary management of private forests in the Lithuanian county of Klaipeda.
