Forest residues, roadside vegetation, and fuelwood.

Added value from every harvested tree
Within our Bioenergy business area, we make use of renewable by-products from forestry and sawmills and process them into biofuels for energy and heat production.
Our Resources
SCA’s extensive forest holdings and sawmill operations provide a long-term supply of bark, wood chips, sawdust, as well as branches and tops. This broad raw material base creates a stable foundation for the production of renewable fuels.
Our Capacity
Through our own production facilities, storage capacity and a network of strategically located terminals, we can handle large volumes of biofuels and plan deliveries by road, rail and sea.

Flexible and Reliable Fuel Solutions
Our capacity enables us to tailor fuel mixes and delivery arrangements to meet each customer’s specific needs. This provides a flexible, efficient and reliable fuel supply over time.
Our Customers
Our customers include SCA’s own industrial operations, combined heat and power (CHP) plants, local district heating providers, heating facilities operated by businesses and municipalities, as well as apartment buildings and private homes.

Delivery options

From several of our terminals, we can offer rail deliveries of fuels sourced from forestry operations and sawmills.
500,000 tonnes of pellets
Our pellet deliveries are made by bulk tanker truck or chip truck within approximately 350 km of our production facilities. For larger volumes, we also offer delivery by vessel.

Secure a stable, long-term energy solution
A supply agreement provides long-term security for both fuel availability and pricing. It creates predictability for your operations and ensures that the agreed fuel volumes are delivered as planned.
SCA’s agreements are designed to provide a clear, shared understanding of the terms and conditions, creating a strong foundation for a long-term partnership.

SCA contributes to Sweden’s energy supply
How can Sweden become stronger – in everyday life and in times of crisis? At SCA, we believe part of the answer lies in the resources we have close to us – our forests and the opportunities for renewable energy production they provide. Read more about how SCA contributes to Sweden’s energy supply.

9,000 tonnes of jam are cooked using wood pellets
Danica Foods in Lycksele has been producing jam since 1994. What began as a berry cleaning facility in Rusksele has developed into one of Sweden’s largest jam factories. In recent years, the company has implemented several measures in its production, including switching from oil to pellets, which has reduced its use of fossil fuels.

Sawdust becomes energy – fossil-free and efficient
Sawdust, a residual product from SCA’s sawmill, powers BEWI’s steam boiler. A fossil-free and efficient solution that provides both process heat and heating for the facilities. Read more about how BEWI harnesses energy, recycles waste, and produces insulation material made of 98% air.

Tomatoes grown with renewable pellet heating
At Ljustorps Tomater, pellets provide the energy that heats the soil, growing containers, and greenhouse air. Eva and Jorge produce around 14 tonnes of tomatoes each season: pesticide-free, carefully cultivated, and grown using heat generated from renewable wood pellets.
