We maximize the value of each log
For us, it goes without saying that a climate-smart product must be manufactured by a climate-smart industry. Therefore, we are constantly working to make our facilities and the use of our resources more efficient. To make the benefit of our products as significant as possible for both our customers and our climate.

EUDR and SCA – traceable wood products
The EU’s new Regulation on Deforestation-free Products (EUDR) enters into force on 30 December 2025. SCA is working to ensure that our wood products are fully traceable and comply with the requirements through due diligence procedures and digital systems, enabling sustainable and transparent supply chains.

Certified forestry for traceable wood products
With FSC® and PEFC certification, SCA can offer wood products that are sustainable and fully traceable. The certification ensures that the timber comes from responsible forestry with high standards for the environment, social responsibility and long-term management, from forest to finished product.

Wood products that make a difference for the climate
By measuring climate impact through EPDs and life cycle assessments, SCA can demonstrate the positive effect of SCA’s wood products. With transparent and documented data, you gain a reliable basis for choosing sustainable materials that contribute to climate-smart construction.

A completely new timber facade system
With innovation and wood technology, SCA is developing a new type of prefabricated timber facade that combines design, durability and an efficient construction method. This new timber facade element offers a lower climate footprint, rapid installation and aesthetic flexibility – a step forward for modern construction.

Benefits at every stage – from forest to society
From the northern Swedish forests to completed buildings, climate benefits are created at every step – through active forest management, efficient processing and innovative wood products that store carbon and replace fossil-based materials.

New ISO standard highlights the climate benefits of forest products
A new global ISO standard makes it possible to calculate climate benefits throughout the entire value chain – from forest to finished product. It shows how wood binds carbon, stores it over time and replaces fossil-based materials.

The role of sawmills in a changing world
In a rapidly changing world, SCA’s five sawmills stand at the centre of the transition – from forest to wood product. Through investments in efficiency, local raw material supply and export opportunities, the sawmills not only strengthen the production of wood products but also support communities and local economies in the surrounding regions.

Impregnated by nature itself
Our heartwood pine decking is built on nature’s own protection: by using a high proportion of heartwood, at least 99%, the timber gains inherent properties that make it resistant to moisture and decay. X-ray technology ensures precise heartwood content, resulting in stable and durable wood products for outdoor use.

Sustainable packaging made from recycled plastic
SCA is introducing a new type of packaging (Loop70) containing 70% recycled plastic to protect timber bundles, without compromising on quality. It provides up to 54% lower greenhouse gas emissions, production close to Sundsvall for shorter transports, and certified traceability through RecyClass.

Many reasons to choose wood
Wood is a material for the future, meeting tomorrow’s need for sustainable solutions. Our products store carbon, replace climate-intensive materials and contribute to a more circular society.
